What if we want to rename thousands or millions of files all at once? It would be an excruciating or even impossible task to complete manually. Leveraging the power of the command line, we can easily rename many files all at once. Specifically, we can use the rename
command to help us achieve this goal.
About Me
I have over a decade of experience in clinical research and I am currently working as a Senior Clinical Data Scientist within the Clinical Data Sciences team at Syneos Health. I have a strong background in Data Sciences with an expertise in Data Management and Data Analysis. In addition, I also have experience in web development and a strong interest in cybersecurity.
I completed my Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Computer Science at McGill University (2015). Motivated to acquire more knowledge, I obtained a Diploma in Internet Business Technology (2017) and a Certificate in Data Science & Machine Learning (2018). Having accumulated several years of working experience, I decided to pursue higher education and completed my Masters in Computer Science at the University of Montreal (2021).
Experience
As a lead Clinical Data Manager at Alimentiv, I am responsible for the execution of clinical data management plans and processes for collection, management, reporting and analysis of data on behalf of project teams and sponsors. I also collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams and functional specialists to identify, update, maintain, test, and review project databases, data, related documents, reports and time lines. Additionally, I regularly review quality of data output ensuring all data created meets integrity, quality, validity, and reliability standards in accordance with project and sponsor guidelines, industry best practices and regulatory standards. Lastly, I liaise with sponsors, sites, and project teams to address data issues and queries and ensure stakeholders remain up-to-date on project requirements.
Furthermore, I have over 4 years of working experience at various companies and organizations, most notably with the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC). I was the lead Data Manager for the Canadian Co-Infection Cohort, a prospective clinical cohort of HIV and Co-Infected patients. In that role, I was the primary contact person for day to day data management tasks, from EDC development work to query resolution tasks. I participated in various data management activities required to ensure that the data was collected, managed and reported clearly, accurately and securely. Moreover, I oversaw the implementation of efficient ways to extract, transform and analyze data with high attention to confidentiality and security. Working in the field of research, I had many opportunities to collaborate with world-renowned physicians and researchers, contributing mainly in the data management and analysis components of various projects. During that time, I have also worked as a consultant for local medical clinics and healthcare organizations, providing insight on data-related inefficiencies and recommending optimization solutions.
Occasionally, I have also worked on web development and design projects as a freelancer. Curious by nature, I always enjoy learning new things, and with how accessible knowledge is nowadays, there is simply no excuses.

It is truly impressive how we have been able to create a video game simulating real-life basketball to this level. However, there are add-ons that we can install to the base game to make it even better! In this step by step walkthrough, we go over the process of setting up mods in NBA2K21 in order to enjoy an enhanced and more immersive experience.
In this post, we go over the basics of numbers in Python and explore the various built-in functionalities available to us. Each section comes with a brief description and some sample code.

When we talk about cybersecurity, the terms DES, RSA, AES and so on come to mind. In fact, these are all common encryption algorithms used in today's digital world. However, there exists many other techniques in the history of cryptography. Dating back from World War II, ENIGMA was an encryption device used for protected communication purposes. Going a bit further back in time, the Babington Plot and the Vigenère Cipher were ciphers used in the 15th and 16th century. Another classic example is the Caesar Cipher from the Roman Age. Although the majority of these techniques have become obsolete with time, it could still be interesting to understand how they worked and how they were eventually broken. We will explore several classical cryptography concepts and mechanisms, along with some concrete examples to illustrate their applications.
When we talk about databases, some of the most popular names include MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and so on. These databases are excellent for large scale projects with many users and processes involved. In fact, they are heavy duty commercial databases utilized by many large corporations. However, not everyone uses them. Having worked in the field of research for several years, one thing that I have noticed is that most organizations do not use any of the databases mentionned above. Given that their projects are on a smaller scale and that funding might be a limiting factor, a simpler alternative is used instead: Microsoft Access.
Welcome!
Hey there!
If you're reading this, then it probably means something about me piqued your interest! Well then, please allow me to officially welcome you to my blog! The motivation behind adding a blog section to my page is not only for me to document my work, but also to share my knowledge with whoever may find useful. After all, I myself have learned a great deal from other bloggers and I will always be appreciative for their willingness to share. If a single person takes something away from my experiences, I consider this a success :)
